Project Overview
FWS was contracted to develop the Inland Grain Terminal, aiming to enhance storage and handling capacity for grain. The project focused on expanding storage capacity, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring continuous terminal operation throughout construction to minimize service disruptions.
Project Goals
The main goal of the Inland Grain Terminal project was to increase the terminal's storage capacity and improve the speed and efficiency of its grain handling systems. Key goals included the construction of advanced storage facilities, increasing the throughput of grain shipping and receiving, and installing cleaning systems to ensure the highest quality of grain was processed.
Technologies and Innovations
This project incorporated several innovative technologies and solutions, including:
- Concrete Silos: Six concrete silos with inner stice bins were built to hold 10,588 metric tonnes of grain, ensuring durability and efficiency.
- Grain Cleaning Line: A cleaning system with a capacity of 90 metric tonnes per hour was installed to maintain grain quality.
- Advanced Shipping Systems: The facility is equipped with a shipping capacity of 1,360 metric tonnes per hour and features track loadout systems for efficient grain dispatch.
- Ongoing Operational Capacity: Despite construction, the terminal maintained operational efficiency with a shipping and receiving capacity of 272 metric tonnes per hour.
Results
FWS successfully delivered a state-of-the-art Inland Grain Terminal, combining advanced infrastructure and seamless project execution to support the evolving needs of the agribusiness sector.
