FWS Achieves Best Managed Companies Platinum Status. What It Means for Our Clients and Our Industry

FWS is proud to share that we have once again been recognized as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, achieving Platinum Club status for 2025.

This recognition marks our 11th consecutive year in the program and our fifth year at the Platinum level. While this is an honour in itself, for us, and for the clients we serve, this milestone represents something far more meaningful. It’s not just about maintaining a title. It’s about upholding a standard that influences every aspect of how we deliver complex projects, manage risk, and lead our industry forward.

What Platinum Status Really Means

The Best Managed Companies program, administered by Deloitte, celebrates Canadian businesses demonstrating leadership in strategy, culture, innovation, and sustained growth. Platinum status is awarded to companies who have maintained Best Managed designation for seven consecutive years or more, showing consistent excellence in not only financial performance but also governance, talent development, and innovation.

“Achieving Platinum status is validation that we’re building more than facilities—we’re building a company that sets the bar for the industry,” says Brent Clegg, CEO of FWS.

How It Impacts Our Clients

Our continued recognition as a Best Managed Platinum company reflects real advantages for FWS clients, partners, and employees:

1. Proven Business Resilience
In industries where market volatility, supply chain pressures, and labour shortages are real risks, FWS has demonstrated the agility and financial stability to adapt and lead through change.

2. Leadership in Integrated Design-Build
FWS continues to pioneer integrated design-build solutions that reduce client risk, streamline project delivery, and ensure greater predictability. Being Best Managed isn’t just about financials—it’s about innovation in how we execute complex projects.

3. Strong Talent Attraction and Retention
Recognition like this is not only good for business—it attracts the best people. Clients benefit from working with a team that includes some of the most experienced engineers, project managers, trades, and quality professionals in the industry.

4. Client-Centered Governance
Platinum recognition reflects not just internal performance but also the strength of our partnerships and our ability to align our governance and leadership practices with client goals and long-term project success.

A Culture of Continuous Improvement

From early project planning through engineering, construction, and ongoing maintenance, the FWS approach is grounded in continuous improvement—a principle that aligns directly with the Best Managed program’s values.

“Being a Best Managed Platinum company reinforces our belief that there’s always room to evolve, to adapt, and to improve. That’s what our clients expect. That’s what we expect from ourselves.”
— Ted Fisher, Director, Business Development

More Than a Title—A Responsibility

While many companies might see an award as a destination, at FWS we treat it as a starting line. Platinum status challenges us to maintain the standards we’ve set, while continuing to push the boundaries of what our industry—and our clients—can achieve.

Looking Ahead

As we move into the next chapter of growth and innovation at FWS, our Platinum Best Managed status will serve as a benchmark—not just for business success, but for how we continue to lead the construction, grain handling, and ag-industrial sectors across Canada and beyond.

Thank you to our employees, clients, and partners. We share this achievement with all of you.
