Project Overview

FWS served as the subcontractor for Stantec on the Grain Terminal Infrastructure Project in Carmangay, Alberta, supporting G3 Canada Ltd.’s Site Services Management initiative. The 19-month project, running from October 2018 to May 2020, encompassed road, rail, and utility infrastructure for the inland grain terminal. FWS’s responsibilities included preliminary site investigation, overseeing design from concept through IFC, assembling budgetary estimates, and managing all contractors for site roads, county road upgrades, track embankment, and track construction. The team coordinated closely with CP for mainline tie-ins and schedule alignment, ensured all municipal, provincial, and environmental approvals were secured, and arranged inspections to meet quality standards. Through this comprehensive oversight, FWS ensured the infrastructure met design requirements, adhered to timelines, and maintained operational reliability for G3’s grain terminal operations.
