overview

Project Overview

FWS delivered a design-build retrofit project for Diageo in Gimli, Manitoba, expanding the facility’s water treatment capacity to support ongoing beverage production while minimizing operational disruption. Completed over a 10-month schedule from August 2021 to June 2022, the project included a building expansion with foundations, utilities, and HVAC systems, along with the supply and installation of a reverse osmosis water treatment system and chemical feed system. Extensive interconnecting piping, electrical systems, and controls were integrated with the existing process infrastructure. Tight timelines and limited space required careful planning, close collaboration with stakeholders, and enhanced safety measures such as accessible safety showers and eyewash stations, ensuring the successful completion of a fully operational, compliant, and high-performing water treatment facility.
